I’m (kind of) back from maternity leave!

Well, I’m (kind of) back from my time off for maternity leave… as much as I can be back into the swing of things with a new little girl to take care of 24/7! My day is now broken down from one feed or diaper change to the next, with not a lot of time in between for myself… but it’s sooooo worth it!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the last five weeks since Hera was born, especially having my husband home on paternity leave, and both my parents visiting from Canada during that time. It certainly made the transition into motherhood much easier with all their support!

So this is going to be the first day of my gradual return to freelance illustrating… I’ve two books on the go at the moment, and will post their progress as I find time to work on them (during Hera’s afternoon naps!)

Wow! She’s gorgeous!!!
I really love reading your blog….I’m a fellow Directory of Illustrationer. You’ve got some really useful info/links here!—helped to steer me in the right direction with quoting my last project. (and your work is beautiful, too!)
My sis is having her first baby soon…mind if I ask where you found that cool sling?
Congrats :~)

Wow, back already? Women really can do it all. I wasn’t expecting to see you back for some time. How long is mat leave in Australia? It’s a year in Canada (but you probably already knew that). I wish you lots of luck with balance and of course with fabulous projects. Lots of time for Hera and lots of wonderful moments and time for painting in between!

Hey! Congrats from a stranger! Your baby is real beautiful! Looking forward to see more of her photos! One suggestion: you can create story book with character based on your daughter!
