Elizabeth Badowski’s “The Brotherhood of the Stinky Underpants” is well on its way! Since the last time I posted, I’ve mainly focused on revising the colours to get them just right, I think the overall palette for the story is working really well now. The last couple days I’ve painted predominantly with white acrylic to start pulling out the details and establishing the brightest whites on the pages. Just finished this greeting card illustration for Hazy Jean, it was so much fun to work on! Am really enjoying working in acrylic at the moment, it’s such a different way of painting to watercolour, makes your brain have to work differently to achieve different results.

Well, this picture sums up why I’ve been blog-negligent for the last week… I found out I’m going to be a mommy! My friend’s daughter proudly handed me this drawing and said “This is you and your baby!” and I just about cried! So don’t be surprised if you see a lot more cutsie wootsie cuddly bubbly baby illustrations from me in the near future!
