Greeting Card Universe | Shop Opened!

By heather at 2:35 am on Tuesday, January 23, 2007

Greeting Card Universe is a new site which allows artists to upload their greeting card designs to make available for print-on-demand to earn royalties. The interesting thing about these print-on-demand facilities is that it means as artists we can put products (greeting cards, story books, calendars) out there without the overhead of printing expenses. I found GCU an easy site to use, my shop simple to set up, and the staff super friendly & interested in feedback.

Thanks for the link, Heather! I’m really enjoying your blog and your ideas, it’s such a great resource.

Hi Heather

Have you found this site to be a good money maker? Would you reccomend this over sending samples of your work to publishers?

Hey Crystal,
it’s kind of still too early to tell whether in the long run it will be a profitable website. Looking at my ’stats’ over the last couple months, made enough royalties over selling a few cards to buy myself a jug of milk so far ;) I wouldn’t recommend it over sending samples to publishers, but as a complement to it.
Cheers, Heather
